    Beginning in the fall of 2026, SKCDC will be implementing the Kind Mind program.

    Kind Mind is a trauma-informed, evidence-based Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) framework designed for educators, children, and families. It provides actionable, hands-on tools to help teachers manage classrooms while teaching children to self-regulate, build resilience, and develop empathy.
    The curriculum focuses on prevention and building emotional literacy so that children develop foundational mental health skills.

    🚗👶 It’s Child Passenger Safety Week! 👶🚗

    Keeping our little ones safe on the road is a top priority. Did you know that car crashes are a leading cause of death for children? But many of these tragedies can be prevented by using the right car seat in the right way.

    ✅ Tips for Child Passenger Safety:

    • Make sure your car seat is appropriate for your child's age, weight, and height.
    • Install the seat according to the manufacturer’s instructions and your vehicle’s manual.
    • Have your car seat checked by a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST).

    🦷 Big smiles at Gardiner Center this week! 🦷

    We had a wonderful Dental Clinic on Wednesday with Maddy and Brooklyn from Waterville Community Dental (WCD)! They saw 13 children and every single one of them did so well!

    Before the clinic, kiddos got to read "The Night Before The Virtual Dentist" by Natasha Wing, illustrated by Nathalie Beauvois, to help them know what to expect at their school dental visit. During their checkups, they got to rock some stylish Spiderman sunglasses and even snuggle up with the Spiderman stuffie for comfort. Once their teeth were checked, each child picked out a toothbrush with toothpaste and a fun sticker to celebrate!
