📚🍎 Tuesday marked the last day of Rachael Reynolds’ visit at our Gardiner Head Start Center as part of the “Eat Well Play Hard” program! In Mrs. Josie’s room, the children had an engaging and fun-filled experience learning about healthy eating habits.

✨ Highlights of the Day:

The children enjoyed sampling two types of cheese—one made from cow’s milk and the other a plant-based alternative—paired with crackers, exploring both dairy, dairy alternatives, and grain food groups. 🧀🍞

Everyone listened intently as Rachael read the delightful book “Mouse Mess” by Linnea Riley. 🐭📖

On Wednesday, the children received their very own MyPlates (divided plates) to help them learn about balanced meals. 🍽️

💡 About “Eat Well Play Hard”:

This program focuses on helping children (ages 3-5) and their families develop healthy eating habits and incorporate more physical activity into their routines. Lessons include fun activities that encourage trying new fruits and vegetables, understanding food groups, and making healthy choices. It’s a fantastic way to instill lifelong habits at a young age! 🌟

Check out the photos from This week’s activities! Thank you, Rachael, for your dedication and for making this program such a success. ❤️
