Rachael Reynolds, the SNAP-Ed Program Coordinator at Healthy Communities of the Capital Area (HCCA), visited our Webster Center classrooms today as part of the Eat Well Play Hard initiative. The children had an engaging experience learning about healthy eating habits and had the opportunity to try bell peppers. This hands-on approach is designed to teach young children about healthy eating and the importance of regular physical activity.
The Eat Well Play Hard program consists of a series of six to eight lessons aimed at increasing the consumption of fruits and vegetables among young children, encouraging the intake of low-fat or fat-free dairy options, and promoting physical activity.
By introducing children to new foods like bell peppers in a fun and interactive way, we aim to foster curiosity and enthusiasm for nutritious foods, setting the foundation for lifelong healthy eating habits. A big thank you to Rachael Reynolds and the SNAP-Ed program for bringing this valuable experience to our students!
If you’d love for your child to participate in hands-on, educational activities like these, we have great news! We have openings in two preschool classrooms at Webster Head Start Center in Augusta for 3 and 4yr olds.
