Agency Benefits
- Full time regular employees accrue one day of sick leave per month. (Prorated for part-time regular employees).
- Employees receive holiday pay for all state observed holidays.
- Group medical insurance paid by both the Agency and the employee, rates based on number of hours worked. Deductions made on a pre-tax basis.

Early Childhood Educator Workforce Salary Supplement System
SKCDC participates in the Maine Early Childhood Workforce Salary Supplement System, which assists eligible child care providers in paying competitive salaries to address challenges in the child care workforce and ensure access to affordable, high-quality child care options for Maine families.
The system provides salary supplements to providers for eligible workers based on the workers’ level of education and experience.
This system is available to child care providers and early childhood educators who provide direct child care services to children in licensed child care facilities or are licensed family child care providers.
Maine Child Care Employment Award
Starting July 1, 2024, Maine’s Office of Child and Family Services launched the Child Care Affordability Program (CCAP) Child Care Employment Award. This initiative is a 2-year pilot designed to provide a workplace benefit for staff working in licensed child care programs in Maine
